Tell Us A Little Bit About You.
My name is Charlie, I'm 26 and I'm from Newcastle-under-Lyme. By day I'm a plasterer and Ive been setting up my CBD company since 2020.
Did you set up the business during Covid?
Yes I did, I couldn't work in my normal job as a plasterer and I needed some money coming in so I set this up as all the factories had closed down and plaster became hard to get hold of. Covid really pushed me to take that chance to set up and start something.
Why was it you chose to set up a company selling CBD?
everyone asks me this question and for me it was a personal experience, I struggled sleeping no matter how exhausting the day was my body would be exhausted but my mind wasn't and I just couldn't get to sleep. I tried CBD and all that changed it changed the way I could sleep.
What else is CBD good for?
It's really good for people to regulate your immune system and your cognitive function. It's great for people who suffer with anxiety, stress, pain in their body and inflammation, sleep, mood and good for women during menopause.
What is your most popular range ?
It's definitely the oils and the gummy bears because its an exact dosage, so you know exactly how much to consume. They're also the most effective too as they are the full plant extract.
How do you overcome challenges that have happened to you in the past
When I first started I quickly realised that you can't just open up a bank account to sell CBD as it's strangely enough they still see it in the same lane as drugs. Payment vendors was hard as no one would want to work with me and often held onto the money once I made a sale for three to four months. I got around it by finding a payment vendor that does take payments for CBD. There's alway a way and you have to come at it from a new approach.
What does it mean to you when people choose to buy CBD from you?
it means a lot to me as a lot of work a dedication has gone into this, I love to help the local economy too. Every time I get a new order or a recurring order it means the same amount it means everything to me. All the business I get is really appreciated.
What Are Your Plans for CBD SQ?
I'd love to be the hub for Staffordshire, if I could just get Staffordshire as a whole I'd be really pleased with that.
Do you have any tips or tricks that you can pass on to any budding entrepreneurs?
I don't mind getting things done myself sos I will save myself money doing it on my own as it's the cheapest way. There's loads of things on the internet that you can learn. Don't get down on your losses, count your wins and learn from them and keep learning everyday.
What Do You Like About We Get A Deal And Also Selling On We Get A Deal?
There's no fuss you did all the listings for me and there's no upfront fees. What's really beneficial is it's all about shopping local and helping support local businesses grow. I'd recommend it to anyone looking to grow their business
My advice for any other business looking to sell their products with you would be what have you got to lose? You don't get charged for being on it you only get charged if you make a sale and your commission fees are really low. You really have nothing to lose, it's worth it even if you just get a bit of exposure.
